Two suspects caught after hour-long chase in Dhi Qar, stolen equipment recovered

DHIOAR, Iraq — A security unit under the Dhi Qar Police Directorate arrested two people on a motorcycle after an hour-long chase in the Al-Aqika subdistrict, south of Nasiriyah, police sources said. The suspects were found to be under 20 years old, according to the same sources. A search of the suspects and their belongings turned up 10 stolen water pumps and electrical cables believed to have been taken from neighborhood generators and houses under construction. Authorities said the recovered items were seized and that legal proceedings had been initiated. The suspects will go through the required legal process before being referred to the relevant judicial authorities for investigation, the sources said. No further details were immediately available.
