BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Two suicides were reported Friday evening in separate districts of the Iraqi capital, according to security sources. In the first case, a 16-year-old boy died by hanging inside a room at his family home in the Kemaliya neighborhood on Baghdad's Rusafa side along the east bank. Hours later, a 24-year-old man was found hanged in a room of his home in the Zawra area on Baghdad's Karkh side to the west.
Security forces opened investigations into both cases, examining environmental and surrounding factors, the sources said. Officials added that the definitive causes of death would be determined through the investigations.
The case files have been referred to the judicial authorities, according to the sources. No further details were immediately available about the circumstances of either death.
