Two international drug traffickers arrested in Karbala, 10,000 Captagon pills seized

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Karbala's Directorate of Drug Affairs said two international drug traffickers were arrested and 10,000 Captagon pills were seized in an anti-narcotics operation. In a written statement, the directorate said the suspects were caught in the act with pills that had been hidden in a desert area of Karbala and prepared for distribution inside Iraq. The statement described the operation as a targeted strike against drug trafficking networks, carried out as part of ongoing security efforts to cut off narcotics supply lines. The seized pills were concealed in a desert zone within the province, according to the directorate. Officials said the confiscated material has been sent for laboratory examination and that the investigation is continuing. The directorate added that anti-narcotics operations in Karbala would continue with resolve.
