ANKARA, Turkey — Türkiye's National Intelligence Organization chief, Ibrahim Kalin, arrived in Kirkuk on July 1 following talks in Baghdad, state and local media reported. He was received at Kirkuk Airport by the provincial governor, Mohammed Seman Agha, in what local reports described as his first official visit to the city.
A local source said Kalin and an accompanying delegation were in Kirkuk to hold a series of meetings with the local administration. The talks were expected to cover security and political files of mutual interest.
The Kirkuk stop came hours after Kalin's intensive meetings in Baghdad with senior federal government officials, which focused on joint security coordination, border issues and energy matters. Local media described the trip as part of the ongoing consultation process between Iraq and Türkiye.
