U.S. President Donald Trump said Israel was "very happy" with an agreement on disarming Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza, telling reporters at a cabinet meeting at Camp David, Maryland, that Israel had reached a "consensus" on the matter and cooperated extensively during the process. Trump called the deal "wonderful" and said no one expected such an agreement with Hamas to be possible. The Gaza Peace Council published a roadmap for implementing Trump's plan to end the war, listing principles including the suspension of military operations, the transfer of administration to a civilian Palestinian committee, the reorganization of security structures and a phased Israeli withdrawal. Council CEO Nikolay Mladenov said the step enables the launch of the plan's second phase. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not commented publicly on the agreement, while National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir rejected the roadmap. Separately, the U.S. administration reportedly told Hamas in a phone call conducted through mediators that it was committed to the principle of reciprocity and would not allow Netanyahu to derail the deal. The Gaza Administration National Committee also expressed satisfaction with progress on the roadmap, saying it was ready to proceed with the process.
