Trump says Iran is negotiating with US, wants an agreement

WASHINGTON, United States — WASHINGTON — US President Donald Trump said Saturday that Iran is engaged in talks with his administration and is keen to reach an agreement. Speaking at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Washington, Trump said, "Iran is talking to us now and they really want to make a deal." Trump said he did not believe Iran was ready to sign a deal now, but added that Washington was willing to listen. He also claimed that the United States had struck Iran hard and "completely destroyed" its air force, including 250 fighter jets. Trump announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would visit the United States in the coming days. He also referred to Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer as "Palestinian" and said he would send him "a nice Palestinian outfit" to wear when greeting Netanyahu.
