US President Donald Trump said any agreement with Iran must be “great,” warning that no deal would be reached otherwise. In a post on Truth Social, he framed the issue as a test of whether a new accord could avoid the failures he attributes to the Obama-era nuclear agreement.
Trump described the nuclear deal signed by the Obama administration as a “disaster,” arguing that it gave Iran an open path to obtain nuclear weapons. He said the next agreement would be the opposite of that earlier deal.
He also said he does not make “that kind of deal,” underscoring his rejection of the previous framework and signaling that any future talks would need to produce a far stricter outcome.
