Tribal clash in Maysan leaves 1 dead, 4 injured

MAYSAN, Iraq — A tribal clash in the Majar al-Kabir district south of Maysan on Saturday evening left one person dead and four others injured, a security source said. The source said the fighting broke out after a previous dispute between members of the Furtus tribe flared up again. Various weapons were used in the clash, causing the death and injuries. A large security force deployed to the area surrounded the scene and brought the situation under control, the source said. The body was taken to forensic medicine, while the injured were transferred to the nearest health center. Security forces have launched searches and arrests to track down those involved in the clash.
