Iraqi Transport Minister Dismisses Five Maritime and Port Officials

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Transport Minister Razzaq Muhibis Al-Saadawi has dismissed four general managers at the state-owned maritime transport company. The ministry stated that the personnel changes were implemented to meet operational requirements. The reshuffle affects the company’s insurance, contracts, maritime agency, and commercial departments, with new interim appointments made to fill the vacancies. In a separate administrative action, the minister removed Farhan Al-Fartusi from his position as General Manager of the General Company for Ports of Iraq. Alaa Abdulhasan Ali Ubaid Al-Uqaili has been appointed to lead the ports authority on an interim basis.
