BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Three people were killed and several others wounded in three separate security incidents reported on Friday in Iraq's Diyala and Dhi Qar provinces. Police said two people were killed and a number of others injured in a fight in the Hurnabat area of Diyala.
According to a statement from the Diyala Police Command, security forces cordoned off the scene and established a security perimeter. The command added that a comprehensive investigation had been launched to determine the causes of the violence, and that the security situation in the area remained stable and under control.
In Dhi Qar, a security source said a young man was killed in a tribal clash in the Gharraf district, north of the province, triggered by a dispute over agricultural land. Security forces surrounded the area and transferred the body to the forensic medical department.
Separately in the same province, a woman in her twenties was seriously injured in a domestic dispute in the West Nasiriya district, and her brother was taken into custody. No further details were immediately available.
