Thousands Protest Against Netanyahu Government in Tel Aviv

Thousands of demonstrators gathered in Tel Aviv’s theater square to demand early elections and protest the government's far-right policies. Participants called for the protection of democratic values, a shift toward peaceful policies, and an end to the expansion of settlements in Palestinian territories. Protesters also demanded the release of 180 Palestinian youths they alleged are being held without trial. Additionally, the crowd called for the establishment of an independent state commission to investigate the security failures surrounding the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack. Police were deployed to the site of the coordinated demonstration but did not intervene. Similar anti-government protests were reported in other major cities, including Jerusalem and Haifa.
