Kurdistan Region Completes 810 Road and Bridge Projects

The Kurdistan Region’s Department of Information and Technology announced that 810 road and bridge projects were completed between July 2019 and May 2026. The government report stated that these projects cost a total of 1.057 trillion dinars.
The completed infrastructure includes the construction and renovation of 3,055 kilometers of roads, 2.45 kilometers of tunnels, and 1,622 meters of bridges. Funding for these works was sourced from the investment budget, the regular budget, and revenue generated from weigh stations.
Authorities are currently working on 227 additional strategic road and bridge projects with a total cost of 4.17 trillion dinars. Safety improvements have also been implemented, including the installation of thousands of kilometers of road markings, traffic signs, metal barriers, pedestrian bridges, and speed bumps.
