Temperatures in Kurdistan Region to reach 46°C, meteorology office says

ERBIL, Iraq — The Kurdistan Region's Meteorology Directorate published its 48-hour weather forecast on Friday, reporting partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions with light to moderate westerly winds. Visibility was forecast at 8 to 10 kilometers, with temperatures expected to remain close to the previous day's levels. According to the directorate's data, Friday's readings were 43°C in Erbil, 46°C in Germiyan, 43°C in Halabja, 40°C in Sulaymaniyah, 42°C in Chamchamal, 41°C in Duhok, 42°C in Zakho, 42°C in Aqrah, 38°C in Pirmam and 32°C in Haji Omaran. For Saturday, the directorate said weather would remain clear, with light to moderate northwesterly winds and temperatures near Friday's values. No further operational details were provided.
