BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Media and Communications Commission said no official agent or authorized distributor for Starlink operates in the country, warning that anyone claiming to represent the company will face legal action.
The regulator said claims of "exclusive representation" on behalf of Starlink are misleading to consumers. It added that any announcement of an agency or authorized reseller for the company will be made only through the commission's official channels and Starlink's own channels once the required procedures are completed.
The commission urged consumers and public institutions to be cautious of individuals or entities that claim to sell Starlink products in an official capacity. Authorities said verifications should be directed only to the commission's official sources when needed.
No further details were immediately available on any ongoing or planned licensing procedures for Starlink services in Iraq.
