MOSUL, Iraq โ A teenager drowned in the Tigris River in Nineveh Province on Friday, authorities said, while a separate traffic collision in Kirkuk injured four people the same day.
The Nineveh Police Directorate said the 2007-born youth went swimming in the river near Kayyara, south of Mosul, and disappeared. River police teams recovered the body roughly 30 kilometers downstream. The victim was a student, and authorities sent the remains to the forensic medicine department for standard procedures.
In Kirkuk, security sources said two vehicles collided near the Alwa area, north of the city. Paramedics provided first aid at the scene before transporting the four injured civilians to a hospital for treatment.
