DAMASCUS, Syria โ The Syrian Ministry of Defense exhibited weapons used during the Syrian Revolution on Thursday as part of the "Syria Summer 2026" festival held at the Damascus Citadel. The event, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, was attended by Tourism Minister Mazen Salhani and Culture Minister Muhammed Yasin Salih.
At an official stand, the Defense Ministry displayed weaponry used by revolutionary fighters during the war years. The ministry also organized military and educational activities tailored for various age groups, with a particular focus on children and youth.
Munzir Taamma, from the Moral Supply Unit of the Defense Ministry's Guidance Department, stated that the exhibition included sections on weapons, the military history of the citadel, and visitor competitions. Taamma added that the festival features military demonstrations, reception ceremonies, and maneuvers intended to showcase the ministry's role in protecting citizen security.
The broader festival program organized by the Ministry of Culture includes handicrafts, marketplaces, art events, digital development, and museum areas. The multi-day event aims to provide cultural, entertainment, and economic activities for families and visitors during the summer season.
