A student in Tehran has displayed miniature models of the Shahed-136 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) produced using 3D printing technology. The models were presented at a public city square stand, where the creator offered to share digital printing files to promote the wider adoption of the technology.
The student described the Shahed drones as a source of national pride, noting that various countries have begun utilizing enhanced versions of these systems. The miniature models were offered to technology enthusiasts for symbolic fees.
Low production costs have made Shahed-type kamikaze drones a critical concern for global defense systems. These cost-effective tools are viewed as a significant challenge to existing security infrastructures.
U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker stated that current technologies remain ineffective against Iranian-made kamikaze UAVs, adding that new methods are being sought to counter the threat.
