MOSUL, Iraq โ Iraq's Ministry of Justice has launched a vocational training program at the Mosul Children's Observation Home, teaching residents how to repair mobile phones and electronic devices. The ministry said the program is designed to allow the children to use their time at the facility to acquire practical professional skills.
According to the ministry, the training falls within its broader reform and rehabilitation framework and aims to equip participants with hands-on vocations. Officials said the initiative is intended to help the children secure a livelihood after leaving the home and to support their positive reintegration into society.
The ministry described vocational training as a core element of its rehabilitation vision, adding that the program is also intended to reduce the likelihood of the children returning to offending. It said educational and rehabilitation work for children under its care is ongoing and that the new courses provide an opportunity to gain marketable skills.
No further details on the scale or duration of the program were immediately available.
