TEHRAN, Iran โ Iranian media reported several explosions heard across parts of southeastern Iran on Thursday evening, with the Mehr news agency saying blasts were recorded in the Sistan-Baluchestan province city of Konarak.
Mehr said six explosions were registered in the cities of Bushehr and Chah Bahar, while a separate blast was also reported in Bandar Abbas. The cause of the explosions has not been confirmed by official sources, and no immediate information on casualties or damage was available.
The reports come amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, with diplomatic dialogue between the two countries stalled and mutual accusations intensifying. Disputes over the Strait of Hormuz and freedom of navigation in the region have left each side conditioning de-escalation on its own terms, a deadlock that has hampered broader diplomatic efforts.
No further details on the cause of the explosions were immediately available.
