Security forces carried out separate operations in Baghdad and Anbar, detaining suspects linked to drug trafficking and illegal arms trading. The arrests underscore ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal networks operating across the two provinces.
In Baghdadโs eastern Habibiya district, the National Security unit detained a suspect wanted on suspicion of drug trafficking. The suspect tried to flee, but was tracked and apprehended with the help of a drone.
In Anbar, authorities detained two suspects involved in arms trafficking and seized 19 handguns. The weapons were handed over to the competent authorities.
Both suspects were detained under court orders, and legal procedures have been initiated against them.
