Security forces close main roads in Ramadi over suspected vehicle

RAMADI, Iraq — Security forces in Anbar province sealed off main roads in central Ramadi on Saturday after a parked vehicle raised suspicion in the Al-Adil neighborhood. Counter-Crime and Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams were dispatched to the scene in the early morning hours to examine the vehicle. The teams cordoned off the area and shut traffic on the main routes while conducting checks. Authorities said wider security measures were put in place to protect residents and to determine whether the vehicle contained any hazardous materials. It had not been officially confirmed whether explosives were found inside the vehicle. Anbar-based teams were continuing technical examinations to establish why the vehicle had been abandoned and what it contained, according to the statement.
