Russian strikes across Ukraine kill at least 9, wound dozens

KYIV, Ukraine — Russian strikes across Ukraine overnight killed at least nine people and wounded dozens, Ukrainian officials said. The attacks came after Kyiv warned that Moscow had received North Korean missiles for use in its strikes. The Ukrainian army reported that Russian forces hit the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv regions with drones and ballistic missiles during the night. In Kyiv, a missile struck an apartment building in the early morning, causing it to collapse, and rescue teams worked to pull survivors from the rubble. Multiple strikes in Kharkiv wounded several civilians. President Volodymyr Zelensky said on social media that civilian infrastructure and residential buildings in different cities had been targeted. Ukraine's air force said Russia launched a total of 78 drones and various ballistic missiles overnight, with a significant portion intercepted by air defenses. Most of the deaths occurred in the collapse of the Kyiv apartment building, officials said. Ukrainian authorities warned the casualty toll could rise as search and rescue operations continued.
