Russia says it struck targets at Odesa and Mykolaiv ports

Russia's Defense Ministry said its forces carried out two separate strikes on Ukrainian military targets using high-precision weapons, hitting fuel and lubricant storage facilities at the port of Odesa. According to the ministry, a tugboat being converted for use as an unmanned surface vessel was struck at the port of Mykolaiv. The ministry said the strikes were carried out with air-launched high-precision weapons and drones, and that the storage facilities and the tugboat were hit. The ministry added that Russian forces will continue to target Ukraine's ports, naval fleet and transport infrastructure used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Odesa and Mykolaiv have been regular targets as the main entry points for Western military aid shipped to Ukraine across the Black Sea. Russia has framed the operations as part of a broader effort to disrupt Ukraine's military supply chains through the Black Sea.
