Russia says Iskander missiles struck 40 drone launch sites near Kyiv

Russia's Defense Ministry said on Saturday that long-range Ukrainian drones were targeted in precision strikes near the capital and at a Black Sea port. According to the ministry's daily briefing, Iskander missiles were used to hit positions in the Boryspil area northeast of Kyiv, destroying up to 40 launch platforms capable of firing long-range unmanned aerial vehicles. In a separate attack, the ministry said strikes on the Chornomorsk port in the Odesa region hit seven fuel tanks and port infrastructure used for the evacuation of military goods. A dry-cargo vessel carrying military materiel and equipment was also struck, according to the statement. No independent confirmation of the Russian claims was immediately available, and Ukraine had not commented by the time of the ministry's announcement. The reported strikes come as both sides have continued long-range attacks on military and infrastructure targets throughout the war.
