LONDON โ Seven people, including a police officer, were killed on Monday when a police vehicle and a civilian car collided on a main road near South Bank, east of Middlesbrough in northeast England, Cleveland Police said. Authorities confirmed that all occupants of both vehicles died in the crash.
The force said it is investigating the circumstances of the collision, including claims that one of the vehicles was traveling the wrong way along the carriageway. Officials have not yet formally identified the victims.
Chief Constable Victoria Fuller of Cleveland Police said the crash would leave a deep mark on Cleveland, its local communities and the force as a whole. No further details were immediately available on the cause of the collision or any pending charges.
