Private generator owners to hold protest outside Baghdad's Green Zone

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Private generator owners will hold a peaceful demonstration outside Baghdad’s Green Zone on Monday morning, June 1, 2026, the Central Private Generators Committee said. The committee said the protest will begin at 08.00 and that generator owners from different cities are expected to take part. It said the participants are seeking government support and action to address the problems facing the sector. The committee added that the demand focuses on securing basic materials needed by the generator sector as summer temperatures near their peak.
