BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his Portuguese counterpart Paulo Rangel discussed the possibility of reopening Portugal’s embassy in Baghdad during a phone call on Monday, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said.
The two ministers also reviewed relations between Iraq and the European Union and ways to strengthen them, the ministry said.
They discussed regional developments and the impact of military operations in the Strait of Hormuz on regional security and the global economy.
Rangel invited Hussein to pay an official visit to Portugal next month, and Hussein welcomed the invitation and said he would accept it.
