Peshmerga member injured, teen hospitalized in separate Erbil, Diyala, Baghdad incidents

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Separate incidents on Saturday in Erbil, Diyala and Baghdad left several people injured, according to security sources. In Erbil's Soran district, a 40-year-old Peshmerga member was injured after falling in rough terrain near Lake Bikudian in the Choman subdistrict, the Soran Civil Defense Directorate said, adding that rescue teams were continuing their work. In Diyala's Khales district, a 21-year-old man attempted suicide by jumping from a second-floor location and was hospitalized with serious fractures and injuries. In a separate incident in the same province near Baqubah, a middle school student working at his father's butcher shop had his hand severed at the wrist after it became caught in a meat grinder. He is receiving treatment. In Baghdad, a traffic accident on the Dawra road in the southern part of the capital injured four people, who were transported to hospital.
