Patient dies after falling from second floor of hospital in Sulaymaniyah

SULAYMANIYAH, Iraq — A 63-year-old patient died after falling from the second floor of Shar Hospital in Sulaymaniyah, in the Kurdistan Region, while awaiting medical test results. A medical source said the patient was from the Haji Ava area, which falls under the Raparin administration, and had come to the hospital for examinations over suspected blood cancer. The source said the fall occurred in the morning hours and that the patient later succumbed to his injuries. The body was transferred to the Sulaymaniyah Forensic Medicine Authority to complete legal procedures.
