Nvidia unveils Windows laptop chip in Taipei

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Nvidia on Monday introduced a powerful laptop chip for Windows computers and said it wants a place in the market for next-generation consumer PCs integrated with artificial intelligence. Chief Executive Jensen Huang unveiled the RTX Spark product ahead of Computex and said Nvidia had redesigned the computer together with Microsoft. The company is looking to expand beyond its core graphics business as demand for artificial intelligence has pushed its market value above $5 trillion. Analysts said the move increases competition with Apple, Intel and AMD. The report said the new devices are likely to carry a high price tag.
