Newroz and Duhok play to goalless draw in Iraqi Stars League

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Newroz and Duhok drew 0-0 in a Kurdish derby played in the fourth week of the Iraqi Stars League, with the home side failing to convert several chances despite controlling the match. The game was held at Newroz Stadium in Sulaymaniyah. In the 49th minute, the referee disallowed a goal by Newroz's Brazilian player Neto Amara for offside. The result leaves both clubs without a breakthrough in their league meeting. In another match played simultaneously, Al-Karma defeated visiting Karbala 2-0 at Julan Stadium in Ramadi.
