Mosul raises daily gasoline quota to 3.5 million liters amid supply crisis

MOSUL, Iraq — The head of the energy committee at the Nineveh Provincial Council, Ahmed Abd Rabbo, said authorities agreed to raise Mosul's daily gasoline allocation from 3.33 million liters to 3.5 million liters. He said the directorate of petroleum products is investigating the causes of the shortage and that the new arrangement will take effect from the following day. Abd Rabbo added that private fuel stations would extend their working hours, and that legal action would be taken against stations that close early. The move comes after videos circulated online showing long vehicle queues at stations in central Mosul.
