Security forces in Nasiriya, the capital of Dhi Qar, detained a lawyer who allegedly misled people by claiming to be an adviser to the head of Iraq’s Higher Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zidan. The case has drawn attention because it involved the impersonation of an official judicial role and unauthorized actions carried out under that false title.
Security forces in Dhi Qar carried out the operation in Nasiriya and arrested the suspect after identifying him as a lawyer. Security sources said the man had presented himself as an adviser to Judge Faiq Zidan, head of the Iraqi Higher Judicial Council.
Authorities said the suspect was found to have impersonated an official position and carried out actions without authorization. He was transferred by security forces to a special detention facility to complete the required legal procedures.
The judicial process remains ongoing, and the suspect is expected to be referred to the judicial authorities.
