Kuwait says air defenses intercepted Iranian missiles and drones

KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait — Kuwait's General Staff said on Thursday that Iranian missiles and drones aimed at the country were intercepted by its air defense systems. The military described the incoming projectiles as an "Iranian attack" and said sirens were sounded across the country. The General Staff said the loud bangs heard by residents were caused by air defense units engaging the targets. It urged citizens to follow the security and safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities. Kuwaiti forces said the missiles and drones had been repelled and that the country's airspace remained under control.
