KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait โ Kuwait's military said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed hostile aerial targets in the country's airspace in the early hours of Tuesday, according to an official statement. The armed forces said three ballistic missiles, one cruise missile and ten drones were shot down before reaching their targets.
The statement said air defense units responded to heavy aerial threats during the morning, without specifying their origin. Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a separate statement strongly condemning Iranian attacks on Kuwaiti territory, calling them a serious escalation that threatens regional peace and security.
The ministry said Kuwait reserves the right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Kuwait has placed its air defense systems on high alert to prevent further airspace violations.
No casualties or damage were reported in the statement.
