KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait — KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation has filed a third official protest note with the International Civil Aviation Organization over Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait International Airport. The authority said the airport's radar was struck during the assault, causing heavy damage to air navigation facilities and equipment. The Directorate General reported that the attacks resulted in human injuries and material losses to air traffic management hardware. Air navigation was partially suspended for a short period on safety grounds before being restored in line with international standards, it added. The authority said the targeting of civilian aviation facilities violates the 1944 Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation. It called on ICAO to formally record the violations and assess their impact on regional and international air navigation safety. Kuwait said it is reserving all legal rights available to it under international law and relevant conventions.
