Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala said doctors diagnosed him with episodes of short-term loss of consciousness, a treatable neurological dysfunction, after he fell to the pitch twice in two preseason friendlies within four days. The 23-year-old posted the update on his Instagram account, saying medical staff confirmed no further health risks and that he was receiving appropriate care. Musiala collapsed roughly six minutes after coming off the bench in Bayern's 4-2 win over Heidenheim, having previously gone down during the 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig. According to his statement, the medical team provided initial treatment on the sideline before he was taken to the dressing room. The episodes came shortly after Musiala returned from an ankle fracture that kept him out for about six months, a period during which he missed Germany's run at the 2026 World Cup. Musiala, who has made 231 appearances for Bayern in his career, said he remained "very optimistic" about his condition. No further details on his return to play were immediately available.
