KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait โ Kuwait on Wednesday condemned a missile and drone attack on its territory, describing it as a clear violation of its sovereignty and a direct threat to its security and stability. The Foreign Ministry said the attacks represented a serious breach of international law, the United Nations Charter and relevant Security Council resolutions.
The ministry said the continued escalation at a time of intensive regional and international de-escalation efforts was systematically undermining diplomatic initiatives and disregarding international will. It stressed that Kuwait's security, sovereignty and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory constitute an inviolable red line.
The ministry reiterated Kuwait's natural and legitimate right to take all necessary measures to protect its security and stability. It did not provide further details on casualties or damage.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said earlier Wednesday it had launched missile and drone strikes against 85 U.S. military sites and facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait, describing the operation as a response to U.S. aggression.
