BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Meteorological Authority said Thursday will bring clear skies nationwide, with light to moderate northwesterly winds reaching up to 40 kilometers per hour during midday hours, causing dust to rise in some central and southern areas.
According to the authority, Thursday temperatures will remain close to the previous day's levels in central Iraq, rise slightly in the north and edge down in the south. Friday is forecast to bring continued clear weather across the country, with northern temperatures holding steady and central and southern regions seeing slight increases. Saturday will see stable temperatures in central Iraq, with slight rises in the north and south.
Horizontal visibility is expected to range from 3-5 kilometers in dusty areas and 8-10 kilometers in clear regions. On Sunday, hot weather is forecast to prevail nationwide, with partly cloudy conditions in the south and slight temperature increases across all regions compared to the previous day.
The authority said maximum temperatures in Iraqi cities on Thursday will range from 38 to 45 degrees Celsius.
