KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait — KUWAIT — Kuwait's army said its air defense systems intercepted missile and drone attacks on Wednesday, without specifying the origin. In a statement on social media, the military said it had engaged what it described as hostile missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles and urged citizens to follow security guidance from relevant authorities. Bahrain's Interior Ministry reported that its air defenses had responded to incoming attacks and that sirens had sounded across the country. The ministry instructed citizens and residents to move to the nearest safe area. The ministry attributed the attacks to Iran, according to the source material. Iran's Revolutionary Guards said they had struck 85 U.S. military sites and facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait with missiles and drones on Wednesday, describing the operation as retaliation for U.S. strikes. U.S. Central Command said it completed a new round of operations against Iran on Wednesday morning, targeting more than 80 sites, including air defense systems, command-and-control networks, coastal radars and anti-ship missile launchers, along with more than 60 IRGC fast boats. No casualty figures from the attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain were immediately available.
