LONDON โ€” Maritime data company Kpler reported a small increase in crude cargo vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, according to figures cited by Reuters. Ten ships transited the strait during the day, up from eight the previous day, while the ten-day rolling average stood at around 15 vessels. Seven tankers entered the strait from the Gulf of Oman direction, with three vessels exiting. Separately, Kpler data showed a second consecutive day of slowdown at the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, another critical waterway. Nineteen ships passed through Bab el-Mandeb on Wednesday, down from 24 the day before. A senior Iranian source said Iran and Oman are working to clarify the details of an agreement on the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's Revolutionary Guards had earlier announced that the two countries had reached a deal on the sharing of the waterway and its revenues. No further details on the negotiations were provided.
