BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Meteorological Authority said rain is forecast on Friday and Sunday in several areas, with intermittent clouds expected in parts of the southern region on Friday and temperatures across the country remaining close to the previous day's levels.
According to the authority, Saturday brings a chance of light rainfall, particularly in the eastern parts of the northern region. Light to moderate southwesterly winds are expected to reach up to 30 kilometers per hour during the daytime in the central and northern regions, causing light dust to rise. Horizontal visibility was forecast at 5-7 kilometers in dusty conditions and 8-10 kilometers under normal conditions.
On Sunday, the likelihood of light rain will continue in the eastern parts of the northern region, with temperatures in the central and northern areas set to drop by a few degrees while remaining close to the previous day's levels in the south. Clear weather is forecast nationwide on Monday, with a further slight decline in temperatures.
The authority said Friday's highest temperatures are expected to range between 39 and 49 degrees Celsius.
