Israel moves to remove British and European officials from Gaza coordination center

TEL AVIV, Israel — TEL AVIV — Israeli government sources said Tel Aviv has moved to withdraw British and European officials from the U.S.-led Gaza coordination center. The Financial Times reported that Israel has discussed the option of removing the United Kingdom from the international Gaza support hub in recent weeks. The center was established to monitor the implementation of a ceasefire in post-war Gaza. Two sources familiar with the matter said any further expulsion of international representatives from the hub could require approval from the Board of Peace, set up this year by U.S. President Donald Trump. A third source said Israel retains full sovereignty over who may enter its territory. A spokesperson for the Board of Peace said talks with the Israelis were continuing to maintain multilateral coordination. An Italian government official rejected the possibility that Italy and Germany would be removed from the center. Israel has previously taken similar steps against Spain and the Netherlands, according to the report.
