Knife-wielding attacker killed by police in Paris suburb of Bobigny

BOBIGNY, France — A man carrying two knives attacked two of his neighbors in Bobigny, in the northeastern suburbs of Paris, and was later shot dead by police, authorities said. Officials said the incident stemmed from a rent dispute. Security forces were called to the scene after nearby residents alerted them. During the intervention, a police officer fired a pistol at the attacker, who was hit in the abdomen and died. The two people who were attacked were taken to hospital for treatment. The Bobigny prosecutor’s office said it had opened an investigation into armed violence and informed the police inspectorate.
