Kata'ib Hezbollah Offers to Transfer Advanced Weaponry to Iraqi State Control

Abu Mujahid al-Asaf, security official for the Kata'ib Hezbollah faction within the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), has announced the group's readiness to cooperate with the Iraqi government on the transfer of state-regulated military assets. The faction intends to hand over unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), cruise missiles, and anti-tank weaponry that fall outside the operational jurisdiction of state-affiliated institutions. As part of the proposed handover, the group expressed a willingness to facilitate financial compensation for the transferred equipment. The organization also pledged to contribute to support programs for the families of fallen and wounded fighters, as well as providing assistance to personnel transitioning out of active service. Beyond the security handover, the faction issued a formal appeal to members of the Iraqi Parliament to curb perceived interference in domestic affairs by the United States and British ambassadors. The group characterized such diplomatic activities as an infringement on national sovereignty. Al-Asaf further criticized the government's lack of response to recent security incidents in the Zubair and Shallaja regions. The statement underscores ongoing tensions regarding the integration of paramilitary assets into the state apparatus and the broader influence of foreign diplomatic missions in Baghdad.
