Japan's exports to Iraq fall to $83 million in second quarter

BAGHDAD, Iraq — TOKYO — Japan's exports to Iraq fell to about $83 million in the second quarter of 2026, according to data from Japan's Ministry of Finance. The figure represents a 58.9 percent decline from the $202 million recorded in the first quarter of the same year. Cars and auto parts topped the list of Japanese goods sold to Iraq during the period, accounting for $57 million, or roughly 69 percent of total exports. Rubber and rubber products followed at $6.7 million, with nuclear reactors, boilers, mechanical machinery and related parts ranking third at $4.4 million. The ministry data also showed $3.9 million in exports of optical and medical instruments and measuring devices, and $3.3 million in iron and steel products. Pharmaceuticals, chemicals, synthetic fibers, soaps and detergents, and other miscellaneous goods were also among the items shipped to Iraq during the quarter.
