Japan's national team arrived in Mexico this week for World Cup preparations but had to change training grounds due to poor field conditions at their initial venue. The squad first attempted to train at Tigres UANL's facilities in Monterrey, but unfavorable weather in recent weeks left the pitch in poor condition. Japan switched to a backup pitch used by the national under-19 team before moving again on the second day to Club de Futbol Monterrey's training ground. Technical director Masakuni Yamamoto said the players remained calm despite the logistical adjustments. "We were looking for a better environment and found this result," Yamamoto said. The tournament in North America begins June 11. Japan is scheduled to face the Netherlands in Dallas three days later.
