Israeli Airstrike Hits Hezbollah Sites in Beirut Suburb

BEIRUT, Lebanon — Israel carried out an air strike in Beirut's southern suburb on Sunday, targeting what it described as Hezbollah-affiliated sites. The Israeli military said the strikes hit infrastructure and command-and-control centers. Israeli media reported that two fighter jets fired approximately 10 missiles at targets in the al-Murayjis area, striking two apartments. Citing a military source, Israeli military radio said the operation hit "a valuable target" in the southern suburb. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the strikes were carried out in response to Hezbollah fire directed at Israel. Hezbollah-affiliated El Mayadeen reported that the attack targeted a building in the Hwaita al-Ghadir area south of the capital. No official casualty or damage toll has been released.
