Iraqi Women's Basketball League holds final day in Nineveh

NINEVEH, Iraq — The Iraqi Women's Basketball League 2025-2026 season reaches its final day on Saturday in Nineveh, with the top four places set to be determined by two matches at the North Technical University sports hall. The four competing teams are Aphrodite, Akad Ainkawa, Peshmerga and Sabis. The opening game tipped off at 4:00 p.m. local time, with Aphrodite facing Akad Ainkawa for third and fourth place. The championship final between Peshmerga and Sabis is scheduled to follow at 7:30 p.m. Eleven teams took part in the league this season: Salihiyya, Aphrodite, Shahreban, Sabis, Peshmerga, Kirkukli Devrim, Akad Ainkawa, Karakush, Rafidain, Sinharib and Derbendikhan. The competition began on August 16, with the final stage in Nineveh capping the season-long schedule.
