BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Zeydi has postponed a planned visit to Saudi Arabia, an official source said, with the trip rescheduled to a later date. The visit had been expected to take place on Wednesday before the decision was made earlier in the day.
Zeydi also convened an urgent meeting of the National Security Ministerial Council on the same day, citing developments in the security situation following an airstrike that occurred earlier in the morning. The source said the postponement was linked to those security developments.
No new date has been announced for the Saudi trip. Zeydi is known for maintaining external contacts during his tenure and coordinating on security matters.
